On Monday, December 12, President William Ruto paid a visit to his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, at his family home in Gatundu. The two leaders engaged in a productive discussion on several key national issues, including the ongoing resolution of court cases regarding the constitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

During their meeting, Ruto and Kenyatta emphasized the importance of fostering a unified and collaborative relationship among all Kenyans and stakeholders, stressing the shared responsibility for national unity.

President Ruto expressed his gratitude to the former President for the strong foundation laid during his administration, which has played a crucial role in enabling the government to implement key programs, particularly under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.

The statement also highlighted Ruto's appreciation for President Kenyatta’s leadership, particularly his role in ensuring a peaceful transfer of power after the 2022 elections. Ruto commended Kenyatta’s ongoing goodwill towards fellow leaders and his unwavering support for Kenya’s progress and development.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed the need for broader and more inclusive political consensus to strengthen the country’s governance and ensure sustainable growth and stability.
